The Dublin Bay Mermaid class looks forward to attending and competing at the 2020 Clinkerfest event being hosted by Lough Ree Yacht Club from the 30th May – 1st June in celebration of their 250th year anniversary.

The event is one of Lough Ree Yacht Club’s flagship events designed to celebrate their Sestercentennial or 250th Anniversary of sailing on Lough Ree. Clinkerfest will be a coming together of clinker built racing dinghies and fleets already confirmed to attend include our own Dublin Bay Mermaids as well as Shannon One Designs, IDRA14s, Colleens and Water Wags. The competing fleets are all competitively raced and to a very high standard with some having some of the largest one design racing fleets in the Country.
Fun is a term generally associated with many of the fleets and whilst the racing will be to the highest standard, so will the entertainment and atmosphere after battle has been finished on the water. There will be a line-up of events ready for you over the course of the long weekend including live music and BBQ. The Dublin Bay Mermaid class look forward to hosting our Leinster Championship in conjunction with this fantastic event and hope to see a strong turnout from the Mermaid fleet. There is an early bird entry of €80 if you register before the 1st May, after this cut-off date the entry fee will increase to €100. Early entry is advised as the event will be large and may book out. You can also reserve on-site accommodation space for campers and tents as well as BBQ meals etc. during online entry so sign up as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. It has been highlighted to us that the dinner on the Saturday night will be limited in numbers , so if you intend on going to this, please book soon.
