Skerries Regatta took place on the 24th and 25th of July and saw 14 mermaids competing in sunshine and nice breeze for the Leinster Championship. It was a fantastic event with all 5 scheduled races being completed.
Congratulations to overall winner and new Leinster Champion Darragh Mc Cormack with crew Mark and Noel Mc Cormack on 188 Innocence. 2nd overall was Jim Carthy with crew Muriel and Paula Carthy on 123 Vee and 3rd overall was Francis Browne with crew Frankie and Chloe Browne on 135 Cara II.
Huge thanks to Skerries Sailing Club, all the volunteers and committee and Race Officer Liam Dineen and crew for hosting a fantastic weekend.
Our next event is the Mermaid National Championship from the 18th – 21st of August in Fenit, Co. Kerry hosted by Tralee Bay Sailing Club, we hope to see as many boats there as possible!
