Rush Regatta took place on the 2nd & 3rd of July and saw 15 mermaids competing in mixed conditions. It was a fantastic event with 5 races sailed.

Congratulations to overall winners local boat 123 Vee, Jim Carthy crewed by Muriel and Paula Carthy. Separated from first place only on count back –  2nd overall went to 135 Cara II Francis Browne with crew Frankie and Chloe Browne on 135 Cara II from Skerries. 3rd place went to Foynes boat 188 Innocence sailed by Mark McCormack and crew Mary McCormack and Oisin Finucane.

Huge thanks to Rush Sailing Club, all the volunteers and committee and Race Officer Liam Dineen, and reserve Race Officer Patrick Boardman and crew for hosting a fantastic weekend.

Our next event is the Mermaid Leinster Championship on the 9th & 10th July hosted by Skerries Sailing Club as part of the Skerries Regatta, we hope to see as many boats there as possible!
